Luminism creates illuminated artworks and immersive light experiences that explore the boundaries of light, space, and perception.
We work with light as a living medium. Through colour, movement, rhythm, and shadow, we craft environments that transform how people experience a space, inviting reflection, curiosity, and wonder. Each work is designed to be felt as much as it is seen.
Our practice is rooted in originality and experimentation. We design and own a growing collection of illuminated artworks, alongside creating bespoke commissions for landscapes, architecture, and public spaces. In 2006, we created the first light trail in the UK, helping to define a format that has since become central to contemporary light art experiences. From sculptural forms and immersive walk-through installations to expansive music-led environments, we create experiences that are both striking and meticulously crafted. We have extensive experience producing high-end illuminated trails, one-off pieces for light art exhibitions, and creating atmospheric spaces for music festivals, collaborating with venues, city centres, historic buildings, event organisers, and commercial clients to deliver work of scale, precision, and impact.
Behind the experience sits technical mastery. Our team of artists, lighting designers, engineers, programmers, and technicians work as one, shaping complex systems into seamless, responsive, and intentional environments. We fully manage projects not only from a light art perspective, but also through the delivery of technical infrastructure including power, audio, control systems, and on-site technical teams for live operation, providing clients with a single, central point of contact throughout. As part of the YES Group, we have the capability to realise ambitious projects at scale. Our installations, permanent or temporary, are engineered to perform reliably while retaining artistic integrity and immersive power.
Everything is created and delivered in-house. Our team of 40 full-time staff operate from a 20,000 sq ft warehouse, and we own and operate all of our own equipment. This means our technicians have an in-depth understanding of the parameters, capabilities, and limitations of the systems we deploy, allowing us to design and deliver work with confidence, efficiency, and control. From concept and creative direction through to engineering, fabrication, programming, and installation, our integrated approach ensures clarity, consistency, and fidelity to the original vision.
We also work directly with key brand manufacturers, modifying and developing products to continually evolve and enhance our offering, ensuring our work remains at the forefront of illuminated art and experience design.
